Instruction on the Assembly and Installation of Sprinklers

T.07-04,2022

Recently, we found that the assembly process of sprinkler bulbs and the installation process of sprinklers in fire system are improper among some sprinkler manufacturers. Such sprinklers have great risks in quality and safety, shown in the figures below.

WS series sprinkler bulbs have been greatly improved in the performance of crush (axial) load, operating temperature, response time and other technical parameters based on the characteristics of their application. The inspection of each production process complies with the ISO9001-2000, CCC standards and UL standards. The whole production process is monitored, and the records of which are all archived and can be traced.

The average crush (axial) load of WS series sprinkler bulbs is much higher than the standard assembling pressure of the sprinklers. However, improper assembly will lead to the result that the load on the sprinkler bulbs is not in line with the pressure of screws on the top, causing the partial pressure on the sprinkler bulbs to increase sharply.

In this case, when the external force changes (e.g., the deformation of the sprinkler frames caused by the environment temperature changing), the sprinkler bulbs will be easily damaged due to unevenly distributed load. Such damages include breaking off at the top end of bulbs and fracture on the bulbs.

Therefore, we urge all the sprinkler manufacturers to assemble the sprinkler bulbs in accordance with the sprinkler bulb assembly requirements. Make sure that the sprinkler bulbs are in line with the sprinkler frames and screws to avoid quality risk as much as possible.

In the construction works, sprinklers shall be installed and used in accordance with the national installation regulations. The sprinkler frames shall not be damaged or deformed.
